Wyoming Medicare plans open enrollment
Open enrollment in Wyoming begins at 65. The period lasts for six months and begins the three months prior to your birthday. At this time it is also best to enroll in a Supplement as you cannot be denied based on your current health.
While you can enroll in a Supplement at any time throughout the year, you are required to complete a health survey and can be denied coverage based on your pre-existing conditions.
The Medicare plans in Wyoming are best when combined with a Supplement. Original Medicare leaves behind coinsurance and deductible costs. You may have additional costs as Original Medicare only covers about 80% of outpatient costs.
A Supplement can put a cap on out-of-pocket spending. Another benefit is you can see any doctor that accepts Medicare.

If you were enrolled in Medigap plans C or F before 2019, you could remain enrolled in those plans; however, new beneficiaries cannot enroll in those two plans.
Medicare Advantage Plans
Wyoming only has 5 Advantage plans, based on the county you live in. These plans also known as Part C plans and have additional benefits beyond Original Medicare benefits. The additional coverage is for vision, dental and prescription drug coverage. You can update your Part C plan each year during the open enrollment period that runs from Jan. 1st through March 31st.
Medicare Part D
There are 28 Part D plans to provide beneficiaries with prescription drug coverage. These plans limit your out-of-pocket expenses at the pharmacy. As Original Medicare and Supplements do not offer this coverage, Part D plans are popular among beneficiaries.
