Arkansas Medicare Plans

Arkansas Medicare Plans are generally accompanied by Medicare Supplements or Medicare Advantage.

Some things like deductibles, copays and/or coinsurance could be unaccounted for with Original Medicare Parts A and B.

Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment

Open enrollment is the only time when you can acquire guaranteed coverage with Medicare Supplements (Medigap). Open enrollment takes place during the first six months you have Part B coverage. During this 6 month period you can enroll in Arkansas Medigap plans even if you have a pre-existing health condition.

After open enrollment you’re still able to sing up; however, you may be required to complete a health assessment.

If you have a Medigap plan C or F that you enrolled in prior to 2019 you may be eligible to keep that plan in Arkansas.

Arkansas has 10 Medigap plans to choose from. Medigap plans will cover things like deductible, coinsurance, and copays. For this reason it’s beneficial to get a quote from a licensed Medicare agent. Supplements all include standard care, the main difference will be the cost.

Arkansas Medicare Advantage Plans

Medicare Advantage plans, or Part C plans, include Medicare benefits as well as some extra benefits. These benefits are things like dental, prescription coverage, and vision.

The amount of plans available to you, in Arkansas, can vary by which county you reside in. Contact a licensed Arkansas Medicare agent to enroll in the best option for you.

Medicare Part D

Some Arkansas residents may want to enroll in Medicare Part D or Medicare Advantage plan. This helps to cover prescription costs that may not be covered in original Medicare and Supplement plans.
